May Meeting – Offering Comfort and Kindness through Song
May 16 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Our speaker, Judy Friesem is the director of the Agate Pass Threshold Choir.
Judy will be presenting how music can affect our bodies and minds and how the
Threshold Choir supports that process.
Judy is a therapeutic musician, playing harp in service of healing for Hospice patients. She is also a mediator, focused on forging connection. She combines her love for music with her joy in bringing people together in harmony, to bring compassion to those receiving.
There are thresholds in life when we need comfort, times where we face uncertainty and fear, places that medicine cannot reach. Voices in simple harmony can touch the soul, offering rest and connection on a long, hard journey.
Agate Pass Threshold Choir in North Kitsap is one of 200 communities worldwide, giving the gift of our voices and presence. There is no charge. We sing to make kindness audible. We sing to create a moment of peace and beauty. We sing to honor those at the thresholds of life and death, as well as to support families and caregivers. And, ultimately, we sing because we heal while sharing what we love.
Experience the soothing simplicity of the songs we sing and learn about our offering through music and stories. Information will be available regarding Threshold Choir and how to request our services.
The Choir will perform samples of music they provide to those in need. Participants from the Choir will be: Margaret Celestino, Judy Friesem, Rick Jackson, Jan Meredith, and Jennifer Waldron.
