The Wonder of Being Alive – Deborah J. Milton
September 19 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
September 19 Program Summary: “The Wonder of Being Alive”
Our speaker Deborah J. Milton will briefly share the long story of earth’s creative journey to inspire appreciation for the miracle of life on this small blue dot in the universe. Since many of our modern ills are caused by disconnection, cynicism and emptiness, she will share her own stories of healing and discovery as she describes the nature of awe & wonder, the power of heartbreak and love, the kinship of fear and courage, and the empowering gift of ecstasy. Audience participation and creative expression will be encouraged.
Deborah J. Milton
PhD, artist, mentor & author
Deborah grew up on the East Coast, received her PhD from Bryn Mawr College and radically changed her life when she moved to Montana in 1980. Serving as a psychotherapist for a decade, Milton finally took her own advice: listen to your belly’s wisdom. She quit her practice to become a writer/photographer. Two years later she remembered her childhood dream of being an artist. She’s been painting professionally since 1993, and began a creativity center, Athanor Arts, contiguous with wildlands in 1999. In 2009 she moved to Bainbridge where her inspirational, creative work continues.
Ode to Gaia: Calling Forth our Imaginal Selves by Deborah J Milton, available from the author, in the foyer during her program, Amazon and Eagle Harbor Books.
